Saucy Herb Hamburgers

INGREDIENTS

* 1 egg
* 1/4 cup sour cream
* 1/4 cup dry bread crumbs
* 1/4 teaspoon dried parsley flakes
* 1/4 teaspoon dried thyme
* 1/4 teaspoon salt
* Dash pepper
* 1 pound ground beef
* 1 cup ketchup
* 1/4 cup packed brown sugar
* 2 teaspoons prepared mustard
* 4 hamburger buns, split

DIRECTIONS

1. In a bowl, combine the first seven ingredients. Crumble beef over mixture and mix well. Shape into four patties. For the barbecue sauce, combine ketchup, brown sugar and mustard in a small bowl. Grill patties, uncovered, over medium-hot heat for 3 minutes on each side. Brush with barbecue sauce. Grill 4-6 minutes longer or until juices run clear, basting and turning several times. Serve on buns.


FOOTNOTE

*
It's easy to take Saucy Herb Hamburgers along on a picnic. Make the patties and barbecue sauce early in the morning, store in airtight containers and refrigerate. Transport to the picnic in a cooler filled with ice. Grill hamburgers as directed. Don't forget to pack clean containers for any leftovers.

Game Day Hamburgers

INGREDIENTS (Nutrition)

* 1 large potato, peeled and shredded
* 1 cup shredded Swiss cheese
* 1 cup chopped fresh mushrooms
* 2 pounds lean ground beef
* 2 (1 ounce) packages dry onion soup mix


DIRECTIONS

1. Preheat grill for high heat.
2. In a medium bowl, mix together potato, cheese, and mushrooms.
3. In a large bowl, mix ground beef with onion soup mix. Form into 6 large burger patties. Make a pocket in each burger, stuff with potato mixture, and seal.
4. When ready to grill, brush grate with oil. Cook burgers over high heat for 5 minutes on each side, or until well done. Serve hot.

Kerry's Asiago Cheese Hamburger

INGREDIENTS (Nutrition)

* 1 pound ground beef sirloin
* 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
* 1/2 cup buffalo wing sauce
* 1 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
* 1 teaspoon sea salt
* 1 teaspoon garlic powder
* 2 tablespoons olive oil
* 1/2 cup sweet onion, sliced
* 1/4 cup barbeque sauce
* 4 hamburger buns, split
* 1/4 cup Additional ketchup
* 1/2 cup grated Asiago cheese
* 8 slices cooked bacon



DIRECTIONS

1. Mix the beef, Worcestershire sauce, buffalo wing sauce, pepper, salt, and garlic powder in a large bowl. Form mixture into four patties. Place the patties on a plate; cover. Refrigerate for at least 1 hour.
2. Preheat an outdoor grill for high heat.
3. Heat the olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Cook and stir the onion in the olive oil until translucent, about 5 minutes; set aside.
4. Cook the beef patties on the preheated grill on one side for about 5 minutes; brush the top of each burger with 1 tablespoon of barbeque sauce; flip. Cook burgers until well done, or the internal temperature reaches 180 degrees F (85 degrees C), about five minutes more.
5. Place one burger on the bottom half of each bun. Top each burger with cooked onions, ketchup, Asiago cheese, and bacon slices; sandwich with top of bun and serve.

Jalapeno Hamburgers

* 1 pound lean ground beef
* 4 jalapeno peppers, seeded and minced
* 3 cloves garlic, minced
* 3 tablespoons tomato paste
* 1 teaspoon cilantro
* 4 tablespoons Cajun seasoning


DIRECTIONS

1. In a medium bowl combine ground beef, jalapenos, garlic, tomato paste and cilantro. Form mixture into 6 patties.
2. Generously sprinkle both sides of patties with desired amount of Cajun seasoning
3. Grill 4 to 5 minutes each side.

Barbequed Hamburgers

INGREDIENTS (Nutrition)

* 1 pound ground beef
* 1/2 cup uncooked rolled oats
* 2/3 cup evaporated milk
* 2 tablespoons minced onion
* 1/8 teaspoon salt
* 1/8 teaspoon ground black pepper
* 4 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
* 2 tablespoons vinegar
* 4 teaspoons granulated sugar
* 2/3 cup ketchup
* 1/4 cup chopped onion
* 3 tablespoons vegetable oil

DIRECTIONS

1. In a medium bowl, mix the ground beef, oats, milk, 2 tablespoons minced onion, salt, and pepper. Let stand for a few minutes until milk is absorbed, and shape into 8 patties.
2. In a small bowl, thoroughly mix the Worcestershire sauce, vinegar, sugar, ketchup, and 1/4 cup chopped onion; set aside.
3. Heat the oil in a medium skillet over medium heat, and fry the patties until brown on both sides. Pour the sauce in with the patties, and reduce heat. Continue cooking about 15 minutes.

Hamburger Sarah Style

INGREDIENTS (Nutrition)

* 1 pound ground beef
* 1 egg
* 1 finely chopped onion
* 1 cup ketchup
* 1/2 cup barbecue sauce
* 1 dash Worcestershire sauce
* 1 teaspoon yeast extract spread (optional)
* 1/4 cup all-purpose flour, or as needed


DIRECTIONS

1. In a medium bowl, combine the ground beef, egg, ketchup, barbeque sauce, Worcestershire sauce, and onion. If you are using the yeast extract spread, throw it in too. Mix together using your hands until well mixed. Add only as much flour as necessary to keep it from being too runny.
2. Heat a large skillet over medium heat. Form the burger mixture into 4 large patties. Place patties in the hot skillet, and fry until no longer pink, about 7 minutes per side depending on thickness. Serve on buns or with gravy.

Hamburgers and Ketchup Gravy

INGREDIENTS (Nutrition)

* 1 pound ground beef
* 1/2 cup ketchup
* 1/2 cup bread crumbs
* 1 teaspoon onion powder
* 1/2 teaspoon steak seasoning, or to taste
* salt and pepper to taste
* 2 teaspoons vegetable oil
* 1 large onion, cut into chunks
* 1 cup ketchup
* 1/2 cup water, or as needed


DIRECTIONS

1. In a medium bowl, mix together the ground beef, 1/2 cup ketchup, bread crumbs, onion powder, steak seasoning, salt, and pepper. Form into small fat hamburger patties, or meatballs.
2. Heat oil in a large heavy skillet over medium-high heat. Place the patties in the skillet, and cook until browned on both sides. Remove patties to a plate, and drain grease from the skillet.
3. In the same pan, slowly stir together the remaining ketchup and water if the mixture seems thin, add a bit more ketchup, or if it is thick, add more water. Add the onion, and bring to a boil. Reduce heat to medium-low. Return the patties to the pan, cover, and simmer for 30 minutes. Stir after the 30 minutes, and if the gravy is still thin, continue simmering with the lid off until gravy thickens.

* 1 1/2 pounds lean ground beef
* 1/2 onion, finely chopped
* 1/2 cup shredded Colby or Monterey Jack cheese
* 1 teaspoon soy sauce
* 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
* 1 egg
* 1 (1 ounce) envelope dry onion soup mix
* 1 clove garlic, minced
* 1 tablespoon garlic powder
* 1 teaspoon dried parsley
* 1 teaspoon dried basil
* 1 teaspoon dried oregano
* 1/2 teaspoon crushed dried rosemary
* salt and pepper to taste


DIRECTIONS

1. Preheat a grill for high heat.
2. In a large bowl, mix together the ground beef, onion, cheese, soy sauce, Worcestershire sauce, egg, onion soup mix, garlic, garlic powder, parsley, basil, oregano, rosemary, salt, and pepper. Form into 4 patties.
3. Grill patties for 5 minutes per side on the hot grill, or until well done. Serve on buns with your favorite condiments.

Pesto Hamburgers

DIRECTIONS

Feta-Stuffed Hamburgers

INGREDIENTS (Nutrition)

* 1 pound lean ground beef
* 1/2 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
* 1 teaspoon dried parsley
* salt and pepper to taste
* 1 cup crumbled feta cheese


DIRECTIONS

1. Preheat an outdoor grill for medium heat, and lightly oil the grate.
2. Knead together the ground beef, Worcestershire sauce, parsley, salt, and pepper in a bowl. Form the mixture into 8 equal-sized balls; flatten to make thin patties. Place about 1/4 cup of feta cheese onto each of four of the patties. Top each of the patties with cheese with one of the patties without; press the edges together to seal the cheese into the center.
3. Cook on the preheated grill until the burgers are cooked to your desired degree of doneness, 7 to 8 minutes per side for well done. An instant-read thermometer inserted into the center should read 160 degrees F (70 degrees C).

Juiciest Hamburgers Ever

* 2 pounds ground beef
* 1 egg, beaten
* 3/4 cup dry bread crumbs
* 3 tablespoons evaporated milk
* 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
* 1/8 teaspoon cayenne pepper
* 2 cloves garlic, minced


DIRECTIONS

1. Preheat grill for high heat.
2. In a large bowl, mix the ground beef, egg, bread crumbs, evaporated milk, Worcestershire sauce, cayenne pepper, and garlic using your hands. Form the mixture into 8 hamburger patties.
3. Lightly oil the grill grate. Grill patties 5 minutes per side, or until well done.

Breaded Hamburgers

INGREDIENTS (Nutrition)

* 1 pound ground beef
* 1/4 teaspoon salt, or to taste
* 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper, or to taste
* 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder, or to taste
* 2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
* 2 eggs
* 1 1/2 cups bread crumbs
* 1/4 cup vegetable oil for frying
* 1 small onion, sliced into rings


DIRECTIONS

1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
2. Whisk eggs together in a small bowl. Place bread crumbs on a plate. In a medium bowl, mix together the ground beef, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and Worcestershire sauce. Form into 4 patties. Dip burger patties into egg, then press into bread crumbs to coat.
3. Heat oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Brown the breaded hamburgers on each side, about 2 minutes per side.
4. Place onion rings in the bottom of a baking dish or casserole dish. Pour in just enough water to cover the bottom, but not cover the onion. Carefully place burgers on top of the onions in the baking dish without touching the water.
5. Bake for 25 to 30 minutes in the preheated oven, until burgers are well done.

Spicy Blue Cheese Hamburgers

INGREDIENTS (Nutrition)

* 1 pound lean ground beef
* 1/2 cup crumbled blue cheese
* 1/2 cup minced onion
* 1/2 cup hot chicken wing sauce
* 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
* 1 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
* 1 teaspoon prepared yellow mustard
* 4 hamburger buns, split



DIRECTIONS

1. In a medium bowl, mix together the ground beef, blue cheese and onion. Season with Worcestershire sauce, mustard, and pepper. Mix well, using your hands if necessary. Form into four patties, and place on a plate. Cover and refrigerate for 1 hour.
2. Preheat an outdoor grill for high heat. Remove the hamburger patties from the refrigerator, and pour enough hot wing sauce over them to cover the top surface. Allow to sit for 10 minutes.
3. Place hamburgers on the hot grill, and cook for about 5 minutes per side, until no longer pink. The internal temperature should be at 180 degrees F (85 degrees C) if taken with a meat thermometer. For extra spicy burgers, baste with additional wing sauce while cooking. Serve on buns.

Lea's Hamburgers

INGREDIENTS (Nutrition)

* 1 1/2 pounds ground beef
* 1 small onion, finely chopped
* 1 egg
* 1/2 cup bread crumbs
* 1/4 cup bacon bits
* garlic salt to taste
* 4 hamburger buns, split and toasted


DIRECTIONS

1. Preheat an outdoor grill for high heat.
2. In a medium bowl, mix together the ground beef, onion, egg, bread crumbs, and bacon bits. Season with garlic salt. (I like to use a lot.) Divide into four balls, and pat into patties.
3. Lightly oil the grate, and place patties onto the grill. Cook for about 5 minutes per side, or until firm and no longer pink in the center. Serve on toasted buns with your favorite hamburger toppings.

Cheddar Bacon Hamburgers

INGREDIENTS (Nutrition)

* 1 pound ground beef
* 1/2 cup shredded Cheddar cheese
* 2 tablespoons prepared horseradish
* 1/2 teaspoon salt
* 1/2 teaspoon pepper
* 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
* 1/2 cup real bacon bits
* 4 hamburger buns



DIRECTIONS

1. Preheat grill for high heat.
2. In a large bowl, mix together the ground beef, Cheddar cheese, horseradish, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and bacon bits using your hands. Shape the mixture into 4 hamburger patties.
3. Lightly oil the grill grate. Place hamburger patties on the grill, and cook for 5 minutes per side, or until well done. Serve on buns.

Delicious Grilled Hamburgers

INGREDIENTS (Nutrition)

* 1 pound lean ground beef
* 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
* 1 tablespoon liquid smoke flavoring
* 1 teaspoon garlic powder
* 1 tablespoon olive oil
* seasoned salt to taste



DIRECTIONS

1. Preheat a grill for high heat.
2. In a medium bowl, lightly mix together the ground beef, Worcestershire sauce, liquid smoke and garlic powder. Form into 3 patties, handling the meat minimally. Brush both sides of each patty with some oil, and season with seasoned salt.
3. Place the patties on the grill grate, and cook for about 5 minutes per side, until well done.

Hamburgers by Eddie

INGREDIENTS (Nutrition)

* 1 pound ground beef
* 1 egg
* 2 teaspoons minced garlic
* 1 tablespoon steak sauce (e.g. A-1), or to taste


DIRECTIONS

1. Preheat an outdoor grill for high heat.
2. In a medium bowl, mix together the ground beef, egg, and garlic. Mix in steak sauce until mixture is sticky feeling. Form into 3 or 4 balls, and flatten into patties.
3. Grill for about 10 minutes, turning once, or to your desired degree of doneness. The internal temperature should be at 180 degrees F (82 degrees C) when taken with a meat thermometer. Serve on buns with the usual trimmings.
